The Programme area covers 22 districts (5 from eastern, 8 from central,
3 from western, 2 from mid-western and 4 from far-western region),
identified by the government as a priority for lease-hold forestry
for poverty reduction. In these 22 districts, 2.55 Million (48%)
people are poor of mid-hills. The overall goal of the programme
is a reduction in the poverty of the 44300 households of mid-hills
areas who would be allocated leasehold forestry plots in 22 districts
through increased production of forest and livestock products.

is responsible for the implementation of component and receive necessary
implementation support.
